Drugstore Make-up Review

You know how everyone has their own everyday, "I can't live without" essentials? Well, mine is your basic eye makeup, from the brows down to the lashes.

I was an avid user of my cheap and affordable- but definitely does it's job- Maybelline Ultra Liner Liquid Liner in black, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in blackest black and NYX eyeliner in medium brown. I figured, why continue to invest in expensive makeup when in reality, you can find better steals, bargains and Buy One Get One Free sales at your local Rite Aid, Walgreens, Avon, etc. that do the same, sometimes even better jobs, than MAC, Sephora, Clinique, Benefit, etc? Especially considering your daily usage and budgets!

But I recently needed a change in my life. LOL. I have really watery eyes and my liquid liner would always run or smear around my tear ducts and I wanted a more natural look for my penciled in eyebrows. Luckily, Walgreens had a 50% off sale for Wet N' Wild products. I picked up the Wet N' Wild Ultimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown and the Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner in black that were $1.99 each. I also ordered the Avon SuperShock Waterproof Mascara in black that was on sale for 2 for $8.99 because I saw it on a Top 10 Mascara List http://makeup.about.com/od/splurgesandsteals/tp/Top-Mascara-Splurges.htm and figured, "Hey, why not?!"

Let me tell you... BEST INVESTMENTS EVER!!!! The eyebrow wax that I got for $1.99 is awesome! I've used Benefits Brow Zing in Dark but paid about $30 for and it didn't even stay on as long as Wet N' Wild's did. The gel liner that I got for $1.99 was so easy to put on and amazingly darker, longer lasting and smudge-proof in comparison with Mac's Fluidline in blacktrack, that costs $15.

And last, but not least, Avon's SuperShock Mascara is by far my favorite! The brush is huge! It's about the length of a quarter and has plenty of flexible bristles for easy to apply mascara. It didn't clump, nor did it flake off. It made my lashes look so much thicker and longer. Imagine what my lashed would've looked like if I curled them first?!
